Ok, So it's now been about 3 weeks since we left Ny Alesund, and despite all my good intentions I haven't written a blog about leaving. Which is a shame, because anything that involves taking off in a small prop plane on an iced over runway is probably worth writing about.
But, what distracted me was the picture below. We had a week in which to write a scientific paper about what we've been up to. Which, well it was awesome but intense, and induced a few grey hairs.
HOWEVER, the awesome thing is that we did see some really interesting information in the data that we've collected. I'm still quite excited about that!
The polar night isn't homogeneous, it isn't boring, it's all go (and just a little bit chilly too..).

In the mean time have a lovely photo from Ny Alesund, with the light, mountains etc
And in other news, I recently found out that I was in the news paper! Look at that, we're famous! (On the Mornington Peninsula at least..)
More to follow, but in the mean time, may the wind be at your back, the snow be vertical and the temperatures comfortably below zero.
